ABOUT GBR
– One of top golf courses of the world –
The Brautarholt Golf Club (GBR) was established in 2011. The first nine holes on Brautarholt Golf Course were opened in 2012 and in 2017 the golf course was expanded to 12 hole golf course.
We are situated in 30 minutes driving distance from Reykjavik, the capital of Iceland and about 1 hour driving distance from Keflavik, International Airport.
Location
Our golf course is just outside Reykjavik, about 30 minutes driving distance from the center of Reykjavik. Even though so close to the city you will enjoy terrific landscape of Icelandic Nature.
If driving yourself to our golf course you will head Northwest on the Ring Road no. 1 towards Akureyri. You will pass the town Mosfellsbær and drive by the mount Esja. Then you will see a small town on your left side and turn left by the gas station and drive the Brautarholtsvegur almost to the end but you will see our sign when you should turn left.
On cars GPS navigators system, enter the text “Brautarholts vegur” (meaning Brautarholts road) to find the way on the screen…
Golf in Iceland
We invite you to experience the special Icelandic golf culture in a small Icelandic countryside golf club, where we have a small pro chop and a café/restaurant.
In our small café/restaurant you can sit down for a sandwich and soda, coffee or beer. There we also have a pro-shop and you can rent golf-carts, clubs and trolleys from us.
Brautarholt golf course was opened in 2012 and is situated just outside of Reykjavik, the capital of Iceland. When you play golf here you can both experience the beautiful nature with amazing natural view as well as have a view over Reykjavik.
Opening Hours
General opening hours of the golf course are usually from 1 May to 30 September depending on the weather and you can book tee time here.
The golf course lies by the sea so you can assume that our course will be one of the first ones to open in the spring and last one to close when winter arrives in Iceland.
